Construction Update: Fifteen Fifty Going Vertical
While much of the action took place behind the scenes, this summer saw significant progress on the construction of Fifteen Fifty On The Park. Work included the demolition of three existing buildings on the site; the pouring of 49 concrete caissons reaching a depth of 80’; installation of a 160’ tall tower crane; and the excavation of Fifteen Fifty’s foundation, paving the way for the building to go vertical this fall.

In many ways, Fifteen Fifty on the Park is a contemporary interpretation of classic Chicago architecture. This is perhaps best exemplified by the building’s curving bay of corner windows, paying homage to Benjamin Marshall’s iconic Fifteen Fifty N. State Parkway, just two blocks east. But Fifteen Fifty’s stately floor plans also evoke the grandeur of prominent pre-war buildings along the park and lakefront…with a contemporary twist.
